The amplifier circuit uses the Class A design format, and the gain switch-which does not use a variable resistor-is of the click type.The 1073 was originally used in various studios as a console module, and since it was so popular the module was subsequently stored in an enclosure along with the power supply and used as an independent outboard unit.
The key component of its circuit is a transistor as opposed to a vacuum tube. The 1073 is an H/A EQ module custom designed for Wessex Studio.
